N Scale BHP custom paint and decal 'bubble' colours

N Scale BHP custom paint and decal 'bubble' colours Tube. Duration : 1.68 Mins.

I have been playing around with my ALPS printer I purchased about 6 months ago. I have been playing with the white decals to see what I can do. These 2 Bachmann SD40-2's were some that I purchased quite a while ago as second hand locos from America on eBay. As original Bachmann does, you can hear the trains whirring as they progress along the line. I serviced them, then painted them in BHP earth 'bubble' colours. BHP had a few of these loco's due to motive power shortages, so as a stopgap until their new locos arrived they got a few of these. Most SD40-2's were left in undercoat grey, and this is what they would have looked like if they painted them up. Using the ALPS printer, these decals are the first locos that have the straight white on them, not colour matched as all my other decals have been. The ALPS printer does an excellent job since it is the only printer for home that can print straight white! Unfortunately there just wasn't enough light for the colours to be bright enough.
