Rustic Log Cabin Decorating

Rustic or log cabin decorating can seem like an breathtaking task but don't let it get you down. Start small using rustic décor elements but plan big with an entire log cabin interior form laid out. Break it down into rooms or living areas and take it step by step.

Plan Big with Log Home Interior form Themes

Iron Decals

Start with selecting an total décor theme. Many habitancy like the wildlife themes for cabin decorating, like moose, bear, wolves, elk or ducks. If you go this route make sure you unquestionably love it because it becomes very easy to pick log cabin decorating elements with moose or bear and pretty soon you can be overrun with woodland animals in your cabin. Nature themes contain pine cones, pine trees and maple leafs.

Other log cabin interior form themes are areas and eras such as Lake cottage décor, Western Ranch, the Lodge look, North Woods, Southwestern and Adirondack style. Each of these cabin decorating themes looks great and many rustic décor accents and furnishings can be found in these styles for your country lodge or log cabin.

Don't be afraid to mix them up the way you like it. Pick and select dissimilar rustic form elements from varied sources; maybe decorate dissimilar rooms in your cabin in dissimilar rustic themes to give that rugged rustic country appeal.

Another idea for a log home interior form theme would be an eclectic mix of antiques and imported items. This unquestionably opens things up and almost anyone that interests you can be incorporated into your total log cabin decorating plan.

Start Small with Log Cabin Decorating Elements

Start with private cabin decorations like rustic lighting fixtures. A cabin-style aggregate light and fan can anchor an entire room. Or plan nearby dissimilar dominating features, like the fireplace. The stone hearth and log mantle can suggest cabin decorating themes, like birch-bark canoes and pine trees, bear switch plates and moose coat hooks, metal art ceiling lights, a wrought iron fireplace screen silhouette or twig furniture.

Or start with a small room - the smallest room in the house makes planning easier to visualize. Make your bathrooms stand out with rustic hardware or wrought iron towel bars. Add a great outdoor-themed mirror and bear or moose light switch covers. Rustic bathroom vanity lighting sets the mood.

Colors and Textures

Log cabin interior form can be overwhelmed by the monolithic look of wood in any place you turn. With log walls, hardwood floors and log or paneling on the ceilings, the dominating optical aspect is wood. Some habitancy like this, but others would rather have some colors thrown in to the mix to set off the gorgeous golden wood tones of the logs and timbers.

Don't be afraid to setup some drywall on your interior walls. Use this as a blank canvas to add color to a room. Add a texture to the walls with plaster and give it some depth. A challenging color will reflect the cabin lighting and brighten the entire place. Muted earth tones blend well with the log cabin look and provide some divergence with the rich tones of the logs.

Light Fixtures and Lighting

Log cabin light fixtures take on a new role with their ability to set a mood or heighten a rustic décor theme. Log homes are not lowly and their light fixtures should not be either. The high cathedral ceilings of a Great Room call for large, dramatic light fixtures such as an antler chandelier, a cedar log chandelier or a birch bark canoe chandelier that focus the eye and make a statement. Use pine cone wall sconces or twig wall lamps to continue the natural rustic décor on stairs. Rustic table lamps and dining lights round out your theme.

Fireplaces

What would a log cabin be without a fireplace? Nothing sums up the rustic coziness of log home living like a stone fireplace set against logs and timbers. While there are many factors complex in designing the exquisite fireplace, the most noticeable features will be the hearth and mantle. Using artificial or artificial stone for the hearth facing can reduce the weight load by a factor of 6 or 7.

Choosing a mantle can be an intensely personal selection and a key feature of your log cabin decorating, but you can rarely go wrong with using a gigantic timber made of reclaimed wood, or a red cedar log sawn in half and resting on two log corbels, or a rough-sawn slice of a log with the bark side showing, or stone slabs set on a recess above the fireplace. This is a opening to let your imagination free, but remember that there are minimum clearances required for flammable materials.

Iron Railings for Log Cabins

An ideal aggregate in nearly every log cabin decorating theme is wrought iron with the logs and timbers. They complement each other with their vigor and rustic simplicity. Iron railings divergence nicely with the lighter wood inside and anchor down the feeling of solidity and permanence.

Log Cabin Flooring

Your floors are one of your largest log cabin decorating elements, but their point is often overlooked or minimized. The choices you make for your log home flooring will partly dictate the total form and look of your cabin. You can make the flooring a essential décor item or you can select to make your flooring become a background for show pieces like soft leather couches, rustic wood tables and wrought iron benches.

You can make a small room feel larger by using flooring that is lighter in color than the walls. Mix up your cabin flooring with stone or tile at the entrances that get the most wear. Blend or divergence this with hardwood flooring and use area rugs to soften the hardwood and help define interior spaces. Spice it up with cowhide rugs and pillows.

Kitchen Cabinet and Bathroom Vanity Hardware

An easy upgrade to your log home interior form is replacing your kitchen cabinet hardware and your bathroom vanity hardware. This is unquestionably done with just a screwdriver and you can select from dozens of dissimilar rustic décor styles such as bear and moose drawer pulls, brass pine cone knobs and bear silhouette door knob backing plates.

Log cabin decorating or log home interior form can be as simple as selecting a few rustic décor elements to heighten your cabin decorating or as grand as selecting an total theme for your log cabin interior form and ensuring that everything is designed and crafted nearby that theme.

Using Iron On T-shirt Vinyl with a Cricut Tutorial

Using Iron On T-shirt Vinyl with a Cricut Tutorial Video Clips. Duration : 9.55 Mins.

Learn More About Iron On T-Shirt Vinyl www.expressionsvinyl.com In this video tutorial we take a look at heat transfer T-shirt vinyl being used with the Cricut machine. T-shirt vinyl is made up of two parts just like regular vinyl, but it works a bit differently. The two parts are the vinyl and the backing. When you use this T-shirt vinyl it doesn't require any transfer tape. The backing itself ends up working like transfer tape. The backing is actually clear and you can tell which side is the backing because it will be shiny, while the vinyl itself will have a matte appearance. So you stick the vinyl onto your cutting mat with the backing side down. Since the backing itself will end up working as the transfer tape you have to do everything backwards so when you flip it over it is all the right direction. We are using a speed of 2 and a pressure of 3 with a cut depth of two. This has worked pretty well for us. You shouldn't ever need to change the cutting depth when working with vinyl, regular or T-shirt. If it is not quite cutting through the vinyl, you just need to increase the pressure. In this particular example with the T-shirt vinyl we are making a multi line design. Now the trick to this is that when you go to the next line you have to do a little backwards thinking and manipulate your start position to get things to line up the way you want. With the Cricut machine you have to make sure and have the "Flip" button selected and spell everything backwards. As far as ...

uncomplicated Nail Designs You Can Do Yourself

Believe it or not, you do not have to be an artist to do your own nail designs. However, nail designs are a type of art and like art, you start off with basic shapes and keep adding details along the way. And also like art, simplicity is visually pleasing. Here are a few straightforward nail designs you can try yourself. If you are a beginner, start with the easy ones first to get practice. If you are a beginner or an expertise and desire more involved designs with ease, try Konad.

Random Lines- This look may be the easiest to accomplish because of its abstract nature. To do, apply one coat of colored nail polish to your nails. My hint is red. If you are giving yourself a pedicure, you only have to apply the nail create to each of your big toes. Nail art brushes that you find at any charm store are the easiest to use when doing nail designs, but if you do not have one, quarterly nail polish will do. You can also use a toothpick. Take black nail polish and make thin, random strokes that start at the base of your nail and shoot up from there. It is prominent to have very petite nail polish on the brush so that you do not end up with globs on your nail. It is also prominent that your lines are thin. Your lines can start from the same point each time or you can have the lines come from separate places. Two-three black lines per nail should do it. Apply a coat of clear nail polish and you are done!

Iron Decals

Flowers- Flowers are a good starting point because if you are a beginner, your accidents can in effect be made into flowers. To start, choose what color you want the middle of your flower to be. Yellow and white are popular colors. Then, place a dab of nail polish on your nail. choose a nail color for the actual flower and make several dabs around the first dab you made. You have now created a flower. Do this with each nail. Creating flowers to the side of the nail look more professional. You do have one more option. Using a toothpick or a thin nail art brush, fill in a circle for the center of the flower. Then draw small circles or ovals around it to originate a flower. You do not have to fill in the circles with nail color. You can plainly draw a center and have a bunch of small lines emanating from a central point. With this method, you only have to use one color, instead of two, to originate your flowers. It is your preference.

French Manicure or Pedicure- The French manicure is relatively simple, but following the natural curve of the nail is challenging. First, apply a coat of clear nail polish to each nail. Then take white nail color and apply it to only the tips of your nails. Some habitancy like to use nail art brushes-those nail polishes in a skinny bottle that come with a skinny brush. It is easier to form a curve with these brushes, but they are not necessary. You can sweep the white nail color over each nail from left to right. The other selection is to apply the white nail polish just like you were applying nail polish to the whole nail. In other words, apply the nail color the long way but only do the tips. Whether way works, and there are now French manicure pens available to make the process even easier. Don't give up. Do all of your nails and you will be surprised at how well they turn out. They may not be perfect, but most habitancy will be seeing at them from a distance. For a pedicure, you can get away with only having nail designs on your big toe. For hands, you can cover any mistakes by purchasing a nail art brush in silver. Run the silver polish along the curve where the clear nail polish meets the white nail polish. This will form a silver line that will hide your mistakes and add an air of sophistication as well. Apply one more coat of clear nail color and you're done.

French Manicure with Gems- Nail decals are a straightforward and easy way to make your nails look professional. To do, give yourself a French manicure or pedicure. Pick up one of your nail gems with a pair of tweezers and place it on top of your nail. You can choose to place just one nail decal, or several, on each nail.

Watermelon Surprise- This nail create may look difficult, but remember that it is only a compilation of basic shapes. Apply pink nail color to all of your nails. Polish the tips of your nails with an off white or pearl color. Using a nail art brush or toothpick, trace the other edge of your nail with dark green nail color. You should now have a thin, green line along the exterior of your nail. Add 4 black dots to each angle of the nail and one black dot in the middle and you are finished.

How To remove Wallpaper Borders

So you bought a new house. You love everything about it except for the ugly wallpaper borders in roughly every room. Time to get them off the wall. Removing wallpaper borders is not an easy task, but with a few good tips and some elbow grease, you can get the job done.

The best way to remove the wallpaper border depends on what type of wallpaper was used, what type of covering it was glued on and what type of adhesive was used. One of the easiest things you can try is to use a hair dryer to heat the wallpaper border which may loosen the adhesive adequate to let you peel it off.

Iron Decals

Usually if the border has been glued to wallpaper, it will come off fairly easy. Slightly mist it down and use a plastic scraper to remove it from the wall. If the wallpaper border has a vinyl covering that won’t let the water or any commercial wallpaper remover soak through, use a perforation tool over the whole covering of the border to allow it to soak in.

If the wallpaper border has been glued directly onto a painted wall, use warm water and some commercially ready wallpaper remover and give it fullness of time to soak in before you try to scrap it off.

Steaming also works well for removing wallpaper borders. Steam the whole covering of the wallpaper border. Start from the lowest to the topmost part in sections. If the adhesive is very strong, steam the boarder twice or more until the wallpaper boarder starts to loosen from the wall. Use a plastic or soft metal scraper to avoid damaging the wall. Scrape the border off the wall working from the lowest up. Use warm water and a clean sponge to remove any remaining adhesive from the wall.

Instead of using a commercially ready wallpaper stripper, you can also use a mixture of fabric softener and water. Mix 1 capful of fabric softener with 1 quart of water. Pour it in a spray bottle and spray it right on the wallpaper border. For very strong adhesives, you can also use a sponge and soak the boarder with pure fabric softener.

Another “homemade” selection is vinegar. Mix water and vinegar and pray it on, or use an old paint roller and roll it right on the wallpaper boarder. The stronger the wallpaper adhesive seems to be, the more vinegar you should use. Use the vinegar selection as a last resort, since it will smell pretty strongly for a few days. Wipe the walls down with a damp rag after you removed the wallpaper boarder to get as much of the vinegar as inherent off your wall.

Complement the room with colorful cushions and throws. sharp colors like mauve and red are best. Why not have a side chair made from cane or even a wrought iron chair and fill it with a cushion or two for show. Place the chair on an area rug.

You can, also, hang tapestry on the walls. sharp designs are good. This will give a desirable look colse to the room. Oil paintings on the walls will, also, heighten the room and give it a great feel to a Mediterranean look.

Wicker furniture can give a Mediterranean style look too. Perhaps, a coffee table made of wicker over your large square or circular patterned area rug will do the trick. Also, add a small wicker side table with a circular area rug under it and place a plant onto it.

White, also, gives the room a sharp look. Most Mediterranean homes are decorated with white walls, so have the room painted white everywhere. Even white curtains hanging off a wrought iron curtain pole will look desirable. White Nylon hanging over patio doors can be effective too. Also, shutters located on windows and doors is a very Mediterranean approved look. An area rug colse to a patio door will look great.

There are many ways to make a room look more Mediterranean. Look at some holiday brochures of villas in Europe. Greece and Cyprus have a more Mediterranean look to their homes with many of the above ideas. Area rugs are the most improving feature for a Mediterranean feel and can for real be acquired quite easily. Area rugs are used all the time abroad in most villas, so it is a feature for any Mediterranean style room.

This being the case, the handrails and balustrade should have the force to keep the weight of an adult without any mishaps. The baluster spacing should also be restricted to four inches so that there is no possibility of small children getting stuck in the middle of them.

Finally, you have to devote some idea to the material that you will use for the building of the stair railings. A wide collection of materials like metal, vinyl, wood and composites can be used here. If you opt for metal railings you again have a wide range to select from. Cast iron, brass, bronze, wrought iron, aluminum etc. Are some of the metals that are normally used for this purpose. Aluminum enjoys a high degree of popularity and you can either go for a powder coated conclude or a brightly polished look based on what you think will go with the look of your house.

Another idea is to try out a composition of materials for the stair railing. In this case, if you use wood for the posts, you can have brass/aluminum balusters and tubular metal designs for the cap rail. This will give a unique and charming look to your stair railing. If you are installing the railing for your outdoor deck, wrought iron material would be a sensible option to make as it is durable, very rust-resistant and relatively immune to harsh weather conditions. Painting wrought iron railings with a new coat of paint also poses no difficulty.

Putting Together a New Bedroom Verse Updating an Old One

If you are about to put together a new bedroom or update an old one, you will want to determined map out the entire layout first. The think for this is the fact that you can make even a smaller bedroom seem large by arranging the furniture properly. For example, think about the bed. The easiest potential way to save a load of space is with either captain's or lofted positions. By raising the bed up, you will be leaving room to put so many things underneath it, such as a desk, bookcase, or even futon. Any size bed can be lofted, from twin size to king size.

Of course, this is not the best selection if you want to display a fancy headboard. For proper California King and Queen Size beds that will be the center of the room, you should get an captivating frame. Many types are available, including the very favorite sleigh and tufted headboards. These can come in a collection of materials, depending on what kind of feel you are going for. Normally, sleigh headboards are made of woods such as cherry, oak, pine, or maple, but they can be forged from metal or iron. Tufted headboards are normally leather or some other type of fabric covering a wooden frame, though they too can be on a metallic frame. It is not difficult to find upholstered tufted headboards.

Iron Decals

Now, if you have kids, what setup should you go with? One of the easiest solutions is to setup a bunk bed. It's not difficult, it saves a lot of space, and the children love it. Why do they love it so much? Well, one child will love being on the top, and they are much happier with the extra room they have to play in their room. These too come in a collection of materials, with wooden frames being the most popular.

Last, think about how the nightstands and dresser will fit with the dynamics of the room. Though it is not important for them to match, it does tie the room together nicely when they do. However, don't forget the most important rule of home furnishing though: Get what will function the best for your needs first, and pay attention to looks second.

French Furniture, The Empire Style

In 1804, Napoleon Bonaparte had himself anointed and crowned Emperor of France. The furniture style known as Empire is a style of majestic grandeur that Napoleon felt fitting to honor his glory. He determined himself the most world ruler since Julius Caesar. The Empire style is the last of the great French styles that widely influenced furniture invent throughout the world. while his rule, Napoleon conquered Italy and Egypt. He was overwhelmed by his conquest of these countries. He brought back to France archaeological wonders of Egypt, the long-forgotten ancient empire. He was proud of his conquest of Italy and Egypt and proudly determined himself as the first worthy successor to Alexander the Great and Julius Caesar. Furniture designed in this duration was meant to imitate the designs of these great empires. Napoleon commissioned the most artist of Europe to generate architecture and decoration that would equate the grandeur of Greece, the glory of Rome and the massiveness of Egypt.

The Empire style furniture is massive, in grand scale and very masculine. It has a severe, heavy, masculine look with no carving. The wood carving which is very base in the previous styles of Louis Xiv, Louis Xv and Louis Xvi is commonly replaced with wood veneers polished to a high sheen. To equalize the bareness of wood veneer, metal gilts are used to adorn the furniture. A good clue to identifying the Empire style is the vulgar use of ormolu mounts. Ormolus are gilt-metal decorations ordinarily in dissimilar decorative motifs. These are ordinarily drawn from ancient sources or patriotic inspiration. There are motifs derived from Egyptian archeology. Falcon, sphinxes, cobras, obelisks, winged lions are just some of these Egyptian inspired decorations. Napoleon's fascination with his conquest of Egypt and later on the excavation of ruins by the French Egyptologists created so much interest in all things associated to Egypt.

Iron Decals

There are also motifs derived from ancient Greek and Roman design. Vases, lamps, torches, heads of Greek gods, ram's head and cornucopias are among the many Greek and Roman inspired decorations incorporated into the Empire style of furniture. French Patriotism grew stronger while Napoleon's rule and it was obvious in the many patriotically inspired decorations which included laurel wreaths, eagles, swords, lances, rifles, drum and bugles. The use of legs that are shaped like animals or sphinxes is very typical to the Empire style. The graceful cabriole legs of the previous styles have been replaced with the massive, more often overstated and vulgar use of legs that are shaped like animals.

The following are the normal characteristics of the Empire style of furniture:

1. It has heavy masculine look.

2. Wood veneers polished to high sheen are used instead of the ornate wood carving ordinarily associated with the previous French furniture styles.

3. The inordinate use of large, often badly cast ormolu mounts.

4. Wood back chairs with upholstered seats. These include the barrel armchair which is a very typical Empire style chair.

5. The use of designs inspired by classical Greece.

6. Mirror-back console table. This is ordinarily used by the ladies to check their no-longer floor-length hemlines.

7. The use of motifs inspired by ancient Egypt, Rome and Greece.

8. The use of Patriotic and forces motifs and the use of letter "N", Napoleon's name initial.

In conclusion, it is relatively easy to identify the Empire style of furniture with its weighty appearance and overbearing ormolu mounts which ordinarily depicts Egyptian, Greek and Roman themes. This style is a step backward from the straightforward but elegant Louis Xvi style.

Vintage Chic Interior - A How To Guide

With the modern trend for all things retro, I idea I'd share my thoughts on this quick and easy guide to creating a picture-perfect vintage chic home interior:

1. Planning

Iron Decals

Think granny's home in the 60s and 70s with floral motifs and lace tablecloths.
There are no hard and fast rules on what makes for a vintage look. Generally, the furnishing includes antiques, second-hand furniture or new pieces deliberately 'distressed' to look used. This means reinventing vintage items and giving them new life.

2. Key Pieces

Whimsical designs ranging from crystal chandeliers, floral fabrics, old-fashioned lampshades, wrought-iron furniture, comfortable armchairs, candles, recycled accessories and offbeat ideas like using an old teapot to hold fresh flowers. There's no running away from wallpaper, furs and curtains if you're going for the European vintage look.

3. Color: Light vs Dark

Personally, I like to opt for light colors like white and cream as they evoke a more breezy and casual touch. It's also the excellent base palette of the vintage look. This color is also easy to work on since you don't have to worry about clashing color. Alternatively, rich and darker color like burgundy, purple, black with gold accents can also character to the room.

4. Cheap & Chic

The key to a bona fide vintage look is, well, vintage pieces. As such, you'll need to contain second-hand pieces which do not break the bank.

5. Coordination Rules

There are almost no rules on putting the pieces together. However, it is leading to visualize the impact of all your mismatched bits and pieces when located together. While we are not talking Stepford Wives perfection, it helps to originate a theme or motif that recurs throughout the space. For instance, pick a family of colors and vary them subtly. Using white as an example, we'd be finding at egg shell, cream, caramel etc.

6. Where to Shop

Anywhere! From ebay to old malls and flea markets, the leading rule is to know what you want but be flexible to adapt when necessary. If doubt sets in, do not commit to a purchase.

Interior institute Ideas - How to generate a Natural Bedroom

Your bedroom is much more than a place to sleep. It is a place where you can leave the stresses of the day behind and fetch a sense of serenity and calm. You should look for ways in which you can make it an engaging space, somewhere you will all the time look send to returning to.

There is a broad selection available when you are buying a bed today; there is a huge range of sizes, materials and styles to pick from. Inspecting the time you are likely to spend in bed, this will probably be one of the most requisite decisions you make when decorating a bedroom.

Iron Decals

Always bear in mind that the bed frame will be larger than the mattress, and you should take this into list when choosing a new bed. If you enjoy reading in bed, then pick one with a solid headboard and all the time ensure you have adequate space for traffic flow around the sides and end. If you allow a clearance of around 90 cm or 36 inches then that should be adequate.

Modern contemporary bedrooms often use natural wood for the furniture material. Solid pine bedroom furniture is ideal for helping you to take benefit of the sunlight and helps to generate a naturally refreshing space. Oak furniture works well as well but has a tighter grain than pine so make sure you are happy with the one you choose.

Iron or brass beds are also very favorite choices. Genuine aged beds are obviously quite high-priced but you might also pick a reproduction iron or brass bed. These can look every bit as engaging as the originals and are more facilely available.

It is leading to think about how the natural light is allowed into the room. Quite often, the first selection is to drape the windows with heavy curtains to block out as much light as possible. However, it may be good to use lighter weight fabrics in composition with sheer curtains for daytime privacy. Fantasize how much more comforting it is to wake to wisps of daylight filtering through the material. If you concentrate on the soothing and calming effects of natural light it may be good to request it in rather than shut it out.

Swimming Pool Decking - What Paving Material Should I Use?

Selecting a paving material for your pool decking is an leading part of your pool design. However, what to choose can often be confusing.

One of the main concerns is often budget. Of procedure that is always a concern in a landscape project, but with swimming pool decking it is particularly leading because of the large whole of square footage that is typically involved.

Iron Decals

Concrete

One of the least costly materials is concrete. With a microscopic creativity, concrete can be a good choice. Concrete can be scored into a geometric design. Scoring is the creating of lines in the concrete that can generate a pattern. You can also add color to concrete. The color should be mixed into the concrete and it should blend well with your surroundings. Do not add color, such as a stain, to the concrete after it is poured, as it will not hold up well.

When using concrete as your paving material, you may or may not use the same concrete for the pool coping material. The coping is the material that edges the pool itself adjacent to the rest of the paving.

If you settle to have a concrete coping, there are a combine of distinct ways this can be done. The first is to run the concrete right up to the water's edge...a cantilevered coping. There is no break or border colse to the coping. The entire pool decking area, including the coping, appears as one material and looks unified.

You can also have a concrete coping that resembles a border going colse to the pool. Here, there is a definite line which is typically a joint defining the coping from the pool paving. However, I prefer the cantilevered look.

Another option is to use an entirely distinct material. You can use brick, stone or pavers as the coping. This creates a separate border colse to the pool in a distinct material and can look very nice. However, it does add on to the cost quite a bit.

Stamped concrete is another paving option for your pool area. The question I have with this, is that building joints often run through the pattern, ruining the designs.

Concrete Pavers

Concrete pavers can also be used. There are many types ready with varied color choices and patterns. Pavers can be all one color or a blend of a few distinct colors. The latter is a nice look and gives a more natural appearance.

When it comes to choosing a paver pattern, mixing distinct sizes can generate an sharp design. You can also choose to use all one size, or just two sizes. The build can be laid parallel to the house or it can be laid on the diagonal. Diagonal patterns tend to make the area look larger.

There is often a matching pool coping for the pavers you select. Paver pool coping has a rounded edge along the water side. Some pavers used for coping are four inches wide, resembling the shape of brick, while others are much wider. This availability will be determined by which paver you choose. Not all coping options are made for all pavers.

Dark colored pavers can be hot on your feet. Lighter colors are cooler and work good for swimming pool decking.

Travertine Pavers

One of my beloved paving materials for pool paving is travertine pavers. They are more costly than concrete pavers but their charm and superior features are striking.

Travertine is a natural stone. Travertine pavers are made from travertine stone that has been cut into shapes, similar to concrete pavers. Pavers have the benefit over travertine tile in that they are dry laid. Along with their beauty, a very strong reckon for considering them is that they are cool on your feet. Your paving will never feel hot.

Natural Stone

Although I love bluestone, I would not advise it because it can get very hot. However, there are other types of natural stone that can be used which do not get hot. Some of the granites are an example. Natural stone is ordinarily set in mortar. This makes it your most costly option for a pool paving material.

When choosing your swimming pool paving, remember that it is all things in the build that will make your landscape successful. The planting design, the build itself, and sharp organery features such as organery ornaments are all just as leading as the paving material itself.

custom Emblems - How to Personalize Your Home

Custom emblems epitomize the extent to which personalization has taken hold of our society. Burger King has been telling us to "have it your way" for decades. It seems that we may be finally taking this to heart.

I suppose that for most of us, we join together practice emblems with cars, in the logos that manufacturers use to help us recognize their brands at a distance. But practice emblems are something that we see elsewhere every day. We probably just don't think of them that way.

Iron Decals

Companies sew them on our shirts and shoes, golf bags, and attach them to our laptops. Organizations generate luggage tags, and put them on armbands and trophies. And so it's to be startling that we would also want to have our own practice emblems to personalize our personal space.

In spite of the amount of hours that we work, we still spend more time at home than anywhere else. What is it about your home that makes it yours? You know that it's more than either or not you own or rent it. And really, it's also more than the proximity of your furniture, clothes, or stereo equipment. The one thing that makes the place you live into your home is how you personalize it with the small bits of embellishment here and there that are unique to you.

Some population do this with dried flower arrangements, or artistic presentations of knick-knacks, or even collections of ceramic animals such as pigs or cats. Fridge magnets are also an example of how population personalize their homes. But these articles are mass produced and sold to tens of thousands of people. It's quite coarse to see one on person else's fridge that we also have.

To have one that is unique to you, however, means that it must be made for you alone. This is where practice emblems come in. Some market sell rectangular pieces of magnetized rubber with a sticky side on it. This enables population to put house photographs on them, manufacture their emblems unique to them. Other way to do this is to have ask a potter to hand paint something personal on a plate, dish, or cup prior to the last firing. A much more high-priced choice is to have your most foremost books leather bound with your own practice emblems in the spine or on the cover. This is something the wealthiest families did in 19th century England.

As you can see, practice emblems can be used in a collection of ways to personalize the space that you call home. The next time you visit a friend's house, ask yourself what makes it unique to those who live there. It will give you ideas for how to make your home that much more special.

Lighten Up With Spring Decor Accessories

Now that spring is ultimately here, it is time to do some lightening, brightening and cleaning. But best of all, it is time for fun, cheery spring decor accessories! Make your home sing by introducing some pretty, spring colors and textures and get happy.

Here are the 6 secrets you need to know to get a beautiful spring home:

Iron Decals

1. Color- Now is the time you'll want to replace darker winter items with fresh, light spring colors. These items can consist of whatever from interior paint color, to throw pillows, curtains, rugs, towels and bedding. You can even switch up the red and green candles that were used at Christmas for some softer pastel colors. Think Easter! The colors are all the time a warm but muted pastel palette. Flowers are a simple way to add splashes of color to a room, add a fun vase and off you go. Recently I found a set of placemats and napkins that sparked an eat-in kitchen makeover done in pale yellows, cream, taupe and teal. A teal vase of pink tulips topped of the look.

If you get stuck for color ideas you can check out the pottery Barn site for their seasonal color palette of paint chips to get some ideas. beautiful choices for spring consist of ivory, taupe, pale blues, pale buttery yellows, spa gray and crisp clean whites. You can use some accent colors in Chocolate brown, mocha, teal, and beige to warm up the space. The idea is to keep it fresh!

2. Texture- It is thoughprovoking to the eye and pleasing to the touch. Texture can be brought into a room in many manners. Either it is a set of new luxurious bedding or some soft throw pillows, you'll want to add some spring fabrics into the mix. Out with the corduroy, wool, velvet and flannel and in with the linens, light cotton and sheer materials. The idea is to have lightness and brightness. Look at fashion as a guide, you wouldn't want to wear warm wool when the weather calls for cool cotton, so is the fashion in your home, calling for an update! You can add texture with candles, artwork, new furniture, as well as by adding thoughprovoking décor items such as shells and sand. Some exact items you might want to focus on are rugs, bedding, curtains, shower curtains, towels, slipcovers and throw pillows.

3. Themes-Spring and summer have themes all their own. These normally consist of floral prints, toile, beach, cottage, island and sea. Use these themes to make a room your own. Maybe you don't want your entire house to look like a beach house, why not incorporate a few pretty shells in the bathroom or place a large conch shell on top of a stack of magazines in a living room. You could add some glassware and a pitcher on a pretty tray out on the backyard patio. Why not change a few pieces of wall art or pictures? These are simple, but noticeable changes. If you love something but can't afford to make your whole house reflect it, choose one room or place some small splashes of that theme throughout the house. You'll have fun this way looking new items for your home without fretting over the cost.

4. Furniture-What a great time to spend in a pretty new patio set. Maybe you live alone and want something smaller scale-get a bistro set for two! It is less expensive and there are lots of choices from teak to wrought iron. Find a table large sufficient to enjoy an afternoon stack or an evening dinner. Be sure to set up fun lounge chairs poolside should you be lucky sufficient to have a pool in your own backyard.

Aside from the great outdoors, you can bring some of that outdoor look inside. Bringing some wicker furniture in will lessen the heavy feeling of other pieces you may have.

5. Flowers-Most people think of outdoor gardening when flowers are mentioned. Be sure to treat yourself to some regular cheap blooms indoors this spring. Tulips, lilies and gerbera daisies are all in season and come in a variety of colors to choose from. Try to choose flowers that look and smell heavenly! Lilies will probably get you the most bang for your buck here! I love to place these in the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms and entryway. Get creative with your outdoor flowers, add color in the front and backyard paying particular detail to the entry door. Add cascading greens to large urns and place them on Either side of the doorway filled with beautiful spring delights.

6. Trends-Be aware of trends but don't blow your re-decorating allocation on super trendy decor items. As a expert Home Stager and Re-designer, I all the time suggest using items that are cheap but have the most impact. If you love a color but couldn't dream of painting your whole room that color or you have a rich fabric you adore but it'll break the bank, just add splashes through smaller items. My favorites are candles, throw pillows, art, placemats, bedding, rugs and flowers. Trends come and go so be sure the trend is something you embrace. Like fashion, not every trend will be one that you will want to be seen in. I for one, have turned down many fashion trends that are uncomfortable, ugly and downright not me! I opt for more superior styles that reflect my personality and taste but simply inject the trend factor by using color and pattern most often.

Like many of my clients, if you have existing furniture and accessories and you desire a boost by getting a fresh perspective to modernize your home, experience Florida Home Staging for more information on Redesign. We'd be happy to support you this spring! We also provide Home Staging services to Central Florida and surrounding residents as they prepare to sell their home. We know exactly what buyers are looking for in a home and will develop your home to appeal to a mass audience to sell quickly and for top dollar.

Benjamin Moore's 2011 Color Forecast

In home staging, we like to stick to a neutral color palette so that we can make the home that's for sale petition to the broadest range of buyers. However neutral does not have to mean boring.

I love to use pops of color (red, turquoise, orange, greens, blues) in throw pillows, artwork and decorative objects against the more neutral background colors (beige, grays, whites) in the furniture, bedding and walls.

Iron Decals

Even so, I love to see what colors the major paint companies forecast to be The colors for the upcoming year.

Benjamin Moore's color designers are forecasting vintage wine (2116-20) as their Envision Color 2011's Color of the Year. According to Benjamin Moore's website: "First seen on the fashion runways of New York, Paris, and Milan, this rich hue with a deep brown base and a hint of smoky violet is just as magnificent in the home. As an undertone in many of the most recent wood finishes, leathers, and other textiles, vintage wine, and its lighter variations, will make a great paint color pick for many applications over the coming years. From deep smoky wine to wildly pumped up fuchsia, purple promises to be a preeminent color in home decor in 2011."

Forecasted Colors for 2011

In increasing to their Color of the Year, the Benjamin Moore color team also comes up with a palette of colors they are forecasting for the coming year. The color team reviews cultural, social, and political conditions and looks at how they work on fashion and manufacture trends. Their prognosis led to a central equilibrium theme with three related "style movements"-Soulful, challenging and Dreamy. Each of these style movements were then defined by six Benjamin Moore colors.

Soulful...

Communications technology has drawn the global cultures closer. What may have seemed strange now appears well-known to us. On the style front, this is descriptive in ethnic designs, pattern-on-pattern, and handcrafted decoration such as beading and embroidery. Colors that reflect this include Benjamin Moore's:

Vintage Wine 2116-20 Wasabi Af-430 Amulet Af-365 Casco Bay 2051-30 Hush Af-95 Etruscan Af - 355

Spirited...

By spirited, this means whatever that makes you feel happy, joyful, playful. In fashion and furnishings it's reflected in designs featuring geometrics, stripes and cubes, and dots and curlicues. Loud and challenging colors are balanced with gray, black and white. Benjamin Moore colors comprising this palette are:

Royal Flush 2076-20 Grape Green 2027-40 Wrought Iron 2124-10 Paper Mache Af-25 Storm Af-700 Lucerne Af-350

Dreamy...

From a manufacture perspective, dreamy means transparency, sheerness, blurriness and softness. The Benjamin Moore colors that reflect this style or mood are:

Gray Mirage 2142-50 Genesis White 2134-70 Porcelain 2113-60 Etiquette Af-50 Kendall Charcoal Hc-166 Smoke 2122-40

Each year Benjamin Moore announces their predictions for the upcoming year in a booklet that's free and ready through the company's full, network of stores. The booklet contains decorating ideas, photo illustrations, plus the forecasted palette of 18 colors for 2011.

Easy No-Sew Projects - No-Sew Pillow Cover

A very easy no-sew task is a no-sew pillow cover. Why buy a pre-made pillow cover when you can make one for a fraction of the cost? With a little fabric and some iron-on hem tape, you can admittedly make your own. The best part: it's even removable! Pillows are such a fun, budget-friendly way to turn up your decor throughout the year. Make a few separate covers using this easy no-sew pillow cover tutorial and turn them out every few months with the seasons--or just whenever you want something new. You can find affordable pillow inserts at most fabric stores, or just make a cover for the pillows you've already got to save more money.

No-Sew Pillow Cover Instructions
All you need is fabric and iron-on hem tape to make this.

Iron Decals

You want to quantum the fabric at least an inch or two bigger than the pillow, depending on the width of the hem tape, and how fluffy you want your pillow. So if your pillow is 18" x 18", cut your fabric 19"x 19".

For these instructions, we will use an 18" x 18" quadrilateral pillow.

1. To make it removable, quantum one 19" x 19" quadrilateral and two 19" x 14" pieces. The smaller pieces will originate an overlapping flap in the back where you will insert your pillow.
2. Take both smaller pieces and iron a seam on one end of each piece.
3. Cut a piece of your hem tape to size and place inside the seam you just created.

4. Iron over the seam, holding for about 3 seconds in each spot to make sure the tape sticks well to the fabric.
5. Take the larger quadrilateral and place it right side up. Place one of the small pieces facing down on top.
Do the same with the other piece. Those two pieces will overlap on the back.
6. quantum the hem tape and iron it on colse to all 4 sides of the pillow, holding the iron in each place for about 3 seconds as before.
7. Let the pillow cool for about one little just to make sure the tape is set and will not come loose.
8. Turn the cover right side out and stuff your pillow in.
